Why is a Manager Pin needed when applying certain discounts?
print icon

Oftentimes, you may come across a blurb on the register that indicates that a certain discount that you are attempting to use will not be applicable unless a Manager Pin is inputted.

By setting a manager override discount threshold, shops can require manager approval on any transaction with a discount above a certain percentage.

Here are some things to consider to better suit your organization's needs:

  • Setting the value to "100" will disable the max discount manager override.
  • Leaving empty or setting to "0" will require a manager pin on all discounts.
  • All other values will lock based on the active cart discount %.
  • This feature will restrict open user discounts on sales, use 0 for most secure results.

If you are needing to make changes when a manager pin would be needed, and if you have admin privileges please use the steps below:

Edit Max Discount

  1. Navigate to Hardware Shortcut in the KlickTrack App Controls.
  2. Select "App Settings".
  3. Enter Max Discount value (percent).
  4. Select "Save".
  5. Once the change has been made, make sure to refresh your registers for the change(s) to take effect.

In the example above, if the discount applied at the register is greater than 25%, KlickTrack will require a manager approval with a 4-digit PIN entry from a manager.
