Obtaining written consent from your SMS/MMS customers

Obtaining written consent from your loyalty customers for SMS/MMS marketing messaging is a critical component of TCP compliance. In the section below, you will find details for obtaining written consent from your loyalty customers for your shop to be able to utilize KlickTrack's SMS/MMS Campaigns.

This workflow will need to include actions by a member of your staff (creating the customer), the customer (requires texting to join), and KlickTrack. We recommend working directly with a legal professional before launching SMS/MMS campaigns.

Single-step text JOIN for consent

  1. Your staff creates the customer in KlickTrack.

    • Note: customer must be in the system before proceeding to step 2.

  2. The newly created customer will text JOIN to the opt-in number.

  3. The customer will receive a confirmation SMS/MMS reply confirming they have joined.

    • Default Confirmation Message: "Welcome! Thank you for opting in to receive special offers from (SHOP NAME). You may be contacted at this phone number by text message and/or by autodialer for any purpose, including marketing, by (SHOP NAME) or anyone acting on their behalf. Text STOP to cancel."

  4. A copy of the customer SMS/MMS response is stored for legal record of opt-in.

  5. The customer is now in the SMS/MMS loyalty system and is ready to receive SMS/MMS Campaigns
